Well, I finally made this account for the BZPRPG wiki. I'm probably going to use this place as a talkbox or a way of venting my RL drama, but who reads this stuff anyway? :P

Dark Pasts - Part 11

Part 11 – Family in Flames

It was smell of smoke that woke her up, and it was the act of waking up that saved her life. She slipped out of bed, hearing the crackling of flames all around her, and an instant later, the ceiling caved in, dumping a heavy, flaming chunk of wood right where her head had lain mere moments before.

She stumbled back in surprise and pain, the heat searing the skin of her arms. Her child’s mind couldn’t comprehend what was happening. Why was her house on fire? Where were her parents? Her siblings?

She ran out into the hallway on her stumpy child feet, jumping through the flames that licked at her legs. She reached her parents room and shoved the door open, before reeling back in terror. There was blood everywhere, glis…

Dark Pasts - Part 10

Part 10 – Second Chance.

She walked the halls of the hospital, watching her body being carried down the corridor. She knew she was dead. That was the only explanation for why she couldn’t return to her body, for why she felt herself slowly slipping away…

The healer had finally arrived, too late to be of any help. She turned away She didn’t need to watch this. She would just have to wait for her spirit to fade away, to finally find peace. No being could bring back the dead, after all…

A sudden tugging sensation made her think otherwise. It was like being pulled by an invisible string, back towards her body. She phased through the wall and entered the room to find the healer crouching over her corpse, her Sana aglow. And in her hand… crackling …

The Crusade - Part IV

The Crusade - Part IV

Kaama awoke to a horrifying sight.

All around the him in the darkened chamber, lining the stone walls, were his comrades: Nuka, Jurok, Marauder, Kiisha, Nyli, Ensilus, and their leader, Jakura. All seven - eight, counting himself - we suspended by their arms from heavy linked chains. Little Jurok was hanging higher than the others, and if Kaama could see his expression, he would’ve guessed it’d contain fear. But instead, all of their heads were downcast. They were unconscious… or dead. Kaama didn’t want to consider the latter.

“Hey, thief - glad you could make it.”

Kaama turned his head to the left, and barely caught glimpse of the gold-and-red form of Jakura - moving. He was moving. Resisting the urge to gasp out loud in…

Dark Pasts - Part 9

Part 9 – I told you so…

“What happened?” the crimson, purple-tattooed Ta-Skakdi demanded as Lash returned – alone – to the hideaway she shared with him and Minnorak.

Lash gave him a cold smile, slowly and deliberately locking the door behind her. “I think you know. You knew from the beginning how this was going to end.”

“What did you do?” he demanded, drawing his claymore.

“Got rid of the competition.” Lash shrugged, uncaring. “It’s too bad, really. I didn’t get a chance to get my knife back when I offed him. It was my favourite blade, too.”

Letting out an enraged roar, the Skakdi charged at her, swinging his energised blade at her. She winced, unable to sidestep in time; the old guy was faster than he looked. The blade sliced across her arm, the…

Dark Pasts - Part 8

Part 8 – The Eye of the Storm

The admiral swore angrily as the pirate vessel peppered his ship with heavy disks and weakness zamors. A sudden explosion blasted chips of wood out of the railing beside him, and he jumped back instinctively, narrowly avoiding being peppered with shrapnel. He strode forward, shouting orders to his men.

“Return fire!” he roared, even as yet another volley rocked his decks. The enemy ship was smaller, faster and more manoeuvrable, and it was getting too close to the admiral’s ship for the rest of his small fleet to risk opening fire.

But the pirates didn’t give them the chance. On their next sweep, they swung in close and flung grappling hooks onto the admiral’s ship, firing one final volley of projectiles at point…

Siege of Dur Ammu - Part II

The Matoran slave walked through the busy camp, every now and then checking if the brawny Vortixx was still following her. After a few times Dartakh growled "Just keep going, I won't leave you". The Matoran looked at his eyes for a short moment, but quickly turned around and moved onward, no longer glancing behind her. A pair of drunk Skakdi yelled something at her in their brutish language when she walked by, and burst out laughing afterwards. The slave quickened her pace. When Dartakh passed by the pair of drunkards, one of them asked him with a very foreign accent, his large mouth twisted into a drunken, amused grin: "Have forgotten to feed your slave, you? Brahahah, good still looks, she, I'd #****# her if give chance, you." His friend…

Dark Pasts - Part 7

Part 7 – Love and War

“I dunno if this is the best idea, mate,” Draygon advised his friend, “I still don’t trust that bitch, ‘specially not on a job like this.”

“Could you please not call her that,” the tall Vortixx with the bull-horned helmet replied snappily. “I trust her. She’s my…” he didn’t know what to call her. Girlfriend? Soulmate? Lover? It all sounded childish to him, so he settled for “…partner.”

“It wasn’t so long ago she was tryin’ ta kill ya,” Draygon reminded him, “I don’t care if you’ve forgiven her, I don’t care if ya think you’re in love with her. Mark my words mate, a woman like that is only interested in power. You’re a means to an end for her, nothin’ more, but maybe somethin’ less.”

The Crusade - Part III

The Crusade - Part III

Kaama ran. His legs flew at a blurring speed, his Kanohi Kakama working overtime to get him away from danger. As his mind raced to figure out a solution, memories of the incident surfaced.

They had been sabotaged.

After a few hours talking to somebody in the back of the bar, Jakura had returned with a grimace on his face. He had told his "team" that they had been rejected - no mission for them, as originally promised. All of them, particularly Kiisha and Kaama, had been frustrated over it. Jakura had promised them, though, that they would find a quicker way back to their homes - and that Marauder, Kaama, and Nuka would learn to enjoy their comfy new cells in Le-Koro.

Despite the fact that he didn't necessarily like the i…

Dark Pasts - Part 6

Part 6 – The Pirate King

When Ryza returned to the ship floating out in the harbour, her brother was waiting for her in his small cabin. The half-dozen crewmen were milling about on the deck, making preparations to cast off in a few hours’ time, under cover of night.

“Did they accept our offer?” he asked without looking up. He’d heard the door open, but there’d been no sound of anyone entering the room. He’d known it was her immediately.

“They did. Eagerly, I might add.” Ryza said. “You chose well with those two.”

“I always choose correctly. Those two are the only beings I’ve ever met with bounties that rival mine. I admire that. The two of them on their own have accrued a greater reputation than I have with an entire ship and its crew.”

“Admir…

Part 5 – The Captain’s Sister

“They’re in there, mate,” the purple and red Ta-Skakdi motioned for the new arrival to head inside. He’d and his partners had been expecting her.

The she-Vortixx stalked silently into the dingy bar to meet her contacts. Supposedly, these two were the best in the business, the deadliest and most efficient contract killers on the island.

She spotted them immediately. A pair of Vortixx sitting at a table in the most distant corner of the bar. One in black armour, the other in green. Lash and Minnorak, they were called. Rumour had it that they’d met when Lash had been assigned to kill Minnorak a few months prior. Rumour also had it that they were a rather romantic couple now.

“I’m here.” She said in a low voice, app…

Dark Pasts - Part 4

Part 4 – Welcome to the Underworld.

The heavily-armoured Vortixx with the bull-horned helmet walked alone down the dilapidated alleyway.

Above him, crouched in the shadows, was another Vortixx, clad in olive green armour. Her baleful red eyes swept up and down the alley, making sure there was no one else nearby. The alley was clear. It was time to make her move.

She was new to this city, seeking her fame and fortune in the town’s criminal underbelly. Within days, she’d secured a very high-paying contract on this particular Vortixx she was stalking now. His name was Minnorak, some kind of big shot mercenary assassin. He had quite the price on his head, and she couldn’t understand why no one had tried to collect it yet.

She was about to find out…

Siege of Dur Ammu - Part I

The once bustling town of Dur Ammu was now quiet, its gates closed and vigilant guardsmen patrolling on the high stone walls of the town, for a hostile army had encamped a mere kio away. The camp was inhabited by Matoran militia, servants and slaves, Lesterin warriors, Skakdi and Vortixx mercenaries and even a few Dangi. It was midday, and the camp was bustling with activity, for an assault on the walls of the town had been planned for the next day. One Vortixx was making his way through the busy labyrinth of tents, trying to find the leader of the army. His name was Dartakh.

The Vortixx had dark blue and black skin, broad shoulders and strong muscles. He wore a shining cuirass made out of bronze scales and a protosteel helmet on his head. …

Dark Pasts - Part 3

Part 3 – Forgive… and Forget.

The sobbing De-Toa sat slumped beside the Bo-Toa’s bed long after her frail body had gone cold and been carried away. This was all his fault…

No, not his fault. He hadn’t chosen to become a Toa! Mata Nui had chosen him, seemingly at random. That choice had left one life ended, another ruined, and dozens more changed forever.

Finally, after wallowing in his misery for what felt like days, but could have been weeks or mere hours (it was difficult to tell underground), the Toa got to his feet and walked slowly around the house, remembering all of the fun times the two of them had experienced here. First date, first kiss, first night together…

Nariya didn’t go out much; it seemed that all of the time they’d spent toge…

The Origins of Scholar

The salty spray from the waves splashed across Kouyran's Matatu-covered face, soaking the Kanohi and getting into all of the crevices and gaps of the Ko-Toa's armour. Their ship crested another wave, sinking down into another trough among the ravines of the ocean. The sinking sun threw rays of crimson light across the deck, casting the other Toa's faces in a malevolent light, painting them with blood. One Ta-Toa- a particularly irresponsible one, named Haarnak- was drunk, playing around with fireballs and floating with his Kadin like the fool he was. Kouyran shook his head at the Haarnak's idiocy, instead focusing on the heavy disk launcher he was manning.

The prevailing atmosphere was tense. Very. They were sailing in hostile waters, run…

Dark Pasts - Part 2

Part 2 – Change of Faith

The Lesterin priest of Mata Nui began yet another long trek up to Kini Nui temple. He made this pilgrimage once a year, to renew his faith in the protector of the island, and this year was no different.

He came up over a rise, and spotted the temple just ahead of him. But he was exhausted from his journey, and he wished to refresh himself before entering the holy place. Sitting down in a nearby clearing, he pulled out a waterskin and began washing the dust of his travels from his hands and armour.

He was so distracted with his cleansing that he didn’t hear what was closing in behind him until the Muaka crashed through the trees and swept him aside with one slash of its claws. He went sprawling, dazed but not bleeding.…

On the Subject of My Blog Stories

To those who don't already know, the stories I am currently writing in my blog posts are sequels to current events in the BZPRPG. You can discover more about these characters' current happenings (if the characters themselves exist right now) if you look up the names of the beings featured in my stories. "Nialus's End", the first short story I wrote, is both an epilogue to Nialus's (or Transient/Cryptic, as you may know him) current story and a prologue to a story I am going to follow in next year's Arc. "The Crusade" and "A Fire Within" are both parts of this story itself, featuring the heroic Matoran, Jaku, and his quest in becoming a Toa.

If you have any questions, or feel that I didn't explain these facts well enough, feel free to contac…

The Crusade - Part II

The Crusade - Part II

Kiisha drummed her fingers nervously on the wooden table. Her razor sharp nails put dents in the surface every time one of them plunked down, and she realized after a few minutes that if she didn't stop, she'd owe the barkeeper a new table. Dang it, Jakura.. what the kark are you doing in there?

The Vortixx rose from her seat and paced nervously across the dimly lit tavern. Thankfully, there were hardly any patrons in the establishment that night - just a group of Ta-Matoran soldiers celebrating a recent victory and a romantically-embraced Toa-couple in the far right corner. Kiisha was glad; the last thing this oddball team needed was attention. She glanced over at the res of the group. Marauder, Nuka, and Kaama were bus…

Dark Pasts - Part 1

Part 1 – Drowning in Fire

The Kumu Islets burned, and the drowning Ta-Matoran prayed. She’d been out on the water, fishing for her next meal, when the explosion had ripped through the air, destroying her boat and the other vessels nearby. A fireball had engulfed the entirety of the island, and destruction rained down from above.

Mata Nui, save me…

She clawed feebly to reach the surface, difficult to do with her fishing line still tangled around one of her arms. The water around her was red with blood and fire. Scorched rubble and charred body parts bobbed in the water. Bloodied corpses sank slowly past her, peppered with shrapnel, so disfigured they were no longer recognisable for the beings they had one been.

Please, Mata Nui, help me…

Her vis…

The Crusade - Part I

The Crusade - Part I

A Su-Matoran Chronicler; a Vortixx dancer; a Ta-Skakdi convict and a Fa-Skakdi smuggler; a Ko-Toa medic; a Bo-Toa rogue; a Vo-Toa mechanic; and a Ta-Toa sentry. This ragtag band of outlaws, heroes and misfits found itself trekking across the freezing tundra of Ko-Wahi, headed for the region's Koro. And so far, it hadn't been a fun journey.

Jakura, Toa of Fire and leader of the group, folded his arms tightly across his broad, armored chest. His deep red, weather-beaten cape that flowed in the harsh wind provided little warmth or protection against the bitter ice storm currently raining down upon the party. The flurry of hail and snow clouded the Toa's vision greatly; and unfortunately, Ensilus, Toa of Ice who supposedly k…

Nialus's End

Nialus’s End - Prologue to "A Fire Within"

Clang!… Clang!… Clang!

The sound of the mighty hammer striking the piece of metal lying upon the protosteel anvil echoed across the dimly-lit cavern and reverberated back to the Toa of Earth’s now-frail ears. His muscles ached with exhaustion, and his throat was sore from dehydration. He had been down here for weeks, maybe months; he had lost track of time. He had drunk all of his water and consumed all of his food, and he hadn’t slept a wink the past three nights. He was weary, sick, and ready to quit. But Nialus was so close… so close to finishing. He just had to hold out one more night. Then, it would be over.

After all the preparation, all of the widgets spent and risks taken, it was almost done.…

Chronicles of the Red Star Voyagers - Entry 3

Written by Jarkale

I sit now on a cold wooden bench in the village of Ko-Koro, recording another chapter of our story. We arrived here not so long ago and met up with another Toa, a Toa of Gravity, named Gravus. He looks strong and honorable and is surely part of the destined group of heroes to open the Vault. Ignitus seemed to recognize him, further supporting my theory of all these Toa being connected by destiny.

Unfortunately, we did not only meet allies. A Toa named Oriak appeared and seemed to remember Ignitus as an enemy. Ignitus and Gravus alike remember Oriak as a demon from their past, a past so shrouded in mystery. Ignitus insists on fighting him in a duel, probably because he wants revenge against some nightmare… I tried talking s…

Chronicles of the Red Star Voyagers - Entry 2

Written by Jarkale

Our journey has taken many steps forward. Upon leaving Le-Koro, we were approached by a Toa named Xadah. Frankly, he seems to be quite a drunkard… but hopefully his powers will be able to help us. If not for the visions Ignitus has begun experiencing, ones that seem to recognize Xadah as an ally, I would probably insist on dumping the obnoxious Toa of Ice. As things stand, however, I am willing to tolerate him.

As I have some time to record my thoughts, I feel inclined to elaborate on the mention of visions. Ignitus first got one right after we left the Le-Koro hospital, falling to the ground and muttering nonsense. This certainly convinces me more than ever that Ignitus, Rerus and the other Toa we have encountered are con…

Chronicles of the Red Star Voyagers - Entry 1

Written by Jarkale.

My name is Jarkale. I have been appointed the Chronicler of a team of adventurers known as the Red Star Voyagers. Our name is very descriptive, for we are indeed travelers looking for the Red Star itself. Or, rather, whatever lies directly underneath it.

As I write this, the first entry of our chronicle, I am sitting in the Le-Koro hospital waiting room. A couple of our members have been hurt by a battle with the evil Rahkshi and are being treated. Ignitus, the determined Toa of Fire is one of them. He is the founder of our team and the one who gave me the responsibility to record whatever we do on our quest. Another Toa receiving care is JL, a brave Toa of Electricity who joined our cause in the tunnels of Mangaia, Makut…

IC: Ishi Polzin

The wind of Ko-Wahi was a free spirit, young and fresh from the Western Sea, and unused to carrying the sounds of war. The battle cries, the clashing steel, the cracking of long-frozen ice; it had not carried such horror since the darkest days of Makuta's reign. And wind, the most fickle of elements, did not like its burden. It tried to cast off the sounds by throwing them at the mountains, but all it achieved was horrible echoes. The cacophony shuddered the snows to the North, and in a few places the ancient mountains retaliated as they always had with an avalanche. The silence of the falling snow and rock made the winds happy: here was the pea…

Mangaia was filled with the blood red glow of slowly dying light stones. No one who traveled through the shadowy corridors deep beneath the surface of Mata-Nui had thought to replenish the ruddy illumination and so in the months since the Makuta’s defeat the once blood-red chamber walls had turned to a dark grey as the light waned. Soon it would be black as night. Even in death the Makuta’s shadows persisted. A door, brooding and mysterious, with no keyhole, hinge, or seam, lurked at the end of spacious chamber and two rows of pill…

Matoran Anatomy Dump, Conceptuals

I really didn't want to put this up in the art forum because, hey, it's really just a sketch (or a dump, whatever you prefer to call it is fine), but I was just doodling around on the Wacom and getting the hang of digital medium art and suddenly realized I'd begun drawing an anatomy concept for matoran in the BZPRPG, where characters are far more organic than in TLG canon.  Orange is inorganic components, cyan is eyes, heartlight, and brain; yellow for auditory, and deep blue for organic components.  Hopefully in a couple days (more like weeks), I'll have something a little more detailed including possibly an organ sketch, dermal view, and action poses.

With his errand for the good doctor completed he left the citadel, taking the snowy streets to Rhanus’ inn. On the walk he thought about the deduction of Matoro’s killer. It had come to him after his meeting with Alloy and The Company, when he had finally taken a peak inside the dossiers. The concept made sense, but was nothing more than an educated guess. It had potentially saved his life in the Akiri’s Office, but Ishi knew the next time h…

Notice: the beginning of this chapter was lost in the dataclysm.  In summation: Ishi Polzin arrives in Po-Koro and finds Akiri Hewkii in the Po-Koro cemetary.  While meeting up with Hewkii, Ishi remembers the destruction of the Ta-Koro hospital, revealing the importance of the two silver engagement rings he wears on his left hand, along with the Ta-Koro widget he carries.

LICK: Akiri Hewkii and Ishi Polzin “Jam”

The small bottle clinked as it bumped against Hewkii's foot. He had not moved when Ishi had begun speaking. Part of him was frozen in worry that he'd been found in such a vulnerable state. Another part was trying to come up with a reply. Yet another part wanted…

Ishi Polzin Chapter 8, Interim

  • Ishi Polzin, played by Kughii
  • Nichou, played by Bulik
  • Caerus Valli, player by Eyru

So much had happened in the past few weeks. The brass fittings for a briefcase rested in a jar below the shifting sands of Po-Wahi, the six akiri had made peace and rebuilt their trust in each other despite the looming secrets hiding in their shadows of command, and a new race of creatures had landed on the shores of Mata-Nui, their strange ways and looks spreading fierce as a blazing wildfire between koros. Ishi found the dasaka as perplexing as they were majestic, and already had begun to plan for the chance to see their native shores, rumored to be in the west as a archipelago of five islands. The world was getting bigger by the day: he would grow with it. T…

Operation Categorization

I've been working on adding character pages into the categories they belong to, but I've come across a few issues.

Some Toa and Matoran seem to be in categories that are a little confusing. I've seen Ve-Toa on thepages of some Toa of The Green, when I thought the prefix was Bo. I'm not sure if I should fix these or leave them how they are.

I also noticed an alarming number of character pages were including things like what type of Toa they were, but not including just plain Toa as a category. I think I've fixed most of these, but there might be a few still lingering about.

Having fixed as many categories as I could, I'm now a little lost as to what to do next. I've not really been in contact with the RPG much for a long while (I didn't even k…

Ishi Polzin, Chapter 6 (2013): Baiting The Traps

  • Ishi Polzin, Kughii
  • Kiara, Vera Polzin's personal aid, Kughii
  • Lipa messenger of Ga-Koro Marine force, Lloyd: The White Wolf

Tohu Inn, fringe of Ga-Koro

Black ink dribbled off the edge of the desk.  Shattered glass remained embedded in the wall.  A half-finished cypher lay in the chaos, its edges sodden and lines permanently erased by the act of frustration.  Ishi’s heavy breathing echoed into the night from an open window.  His eyepatch had been taken off, but a hand covered the blue eye that forever branded him a Polzin.

“Curse Aralick,” Ishi spat as he reeled about the small hotel room.  He felt the chemical burns beneath his fingers, memories issuing from the pale skin.  He pounded a fist into the desk, leaving knuckle marks in the teak.…

  • Pelagia the ferry woman, Kughii
  • Dockside Guard, Kughii
  • Unhappy traveler, Kughii
  • Lipa of the Ga-Koro Marines, Lloyd: The White Wolf

The morning blossomed into a brilliant flower, a humid warmth settling into the region of Ga-Wahi.  Palm fronds along the shore swayed in a cool ocean wind, waves leaving damp history in the soft white sand of the beach.  Birds ascended with the wind, their calls pulling the eye upward toward a brilliant sun.  The clatter of wood and rope echoed beneath the gentle thrumming of boat engines, and Kyhra leaned over the rail of one such craft, the last of the breadsticks ejected with a dismal quiver.  He wiped his mouth on a sodden rag and let it fall, the swift current created in the wake p…

Po-Koro

Kyhra sat in the stands of Po-Koro stadium, his chance at a league position lost earlier before the lunch break.  He and the other rejects lingered in the stone bleachers, watching the final teams competing.  In his hand he held a silver kohlii ball. The hollow sphere barely extended past his fingertips.  Despite its feather weight, Kyhra couldn’t crush it with his strangle hold.  Kohlii balls were forged to sustain far more damage.  Kyhra gave a happy sigh as he gazed at the brand name printed on its shining surface, letters somewhat obscured by the eastern sun.

“Ought to bring a smile to tha…

Ishi Polzin, Chapter 3 (2013): Home Sweet Home

  • Nichou, Bulik
  • Kyhra, Kughii
  • Papa Podu, Bulik

Nichou jogged back to the bazaar, looking for the the Po-Matoran kohlii player he had travelled with for the better part of two days.  The Onu-Matoran was excited about his new apprenticeship and couldn't wait to find Stannis.  But it was already dusk, so that task would have to wait until later.  After a small search, Nichou saw his friend standing by a fountain near the center of the plaza, and so he walked over to him.

"Hello"

"Hey Nichou, how was your luck? I found a place," Kyhra said with a smile.  "Want to check it out?"

"My visit went well;  I got the apprenticeship.  And it would be great to see the place you found," The Onu-matoran replied.

"Oh, that's fabulous!  Alright, follow me.  It's n…

Ishi Polzin, Chapter 2 (2013): Agent and Artisan

  • Kyhra (Ishi Polzin), Kughii
  • Nichou, Bulik
  • Korru, Gear Director
  • Akiri Hewkii, Iron Chancellor

Ishi was not the man in the mirror.

The single blue eye seared through the mirror’s reflection.  It was fearsome, the perfect weapon: no one could see the warmth beneath such cold calculation.   The smoky translucency of his kanohi kaukau only aided the lie of a frigid heart.

“What I do for the game.”  Kyhra half expected to see the surgeon’s scars when the coat fell to the floor.  The aluminum gray colored garment lay awkwardly at his charcoal brown feet, half supported by the tiny brigadine plates sewn within.  He swallowed the growing lump in his throat, eating his fears before they could mature when he saw -- nothing.  Everything inflicted had dis…

ISHI BUMBLED IN THE CART, body rolling amidst richly embroidered textiles with each clattering pothole in the subterranean road.  Hundreds of feet below sharp picks struck against stone, echoing with the chiming sound of bells at harvest time.  The drilling for precious lightstone and protodermis became an ambient lull settling into a recess of unconscious acknowledgement.  He focused on the new vision laid before him in the turquoise light.  Lambent radiance tugged at the back of his mind with the same warping of a dream lost, yet never entirely forgotten.  He beh…

Badges, lovely shiny badges

I'm pleased to say that I'm currently in the (fairly arduous) process of overhauling the Wiki's achievement badge system.  I'm giving them more fitting names, and using exclusively images from the MNOGs.  Don't worry, this is simply changing the badge's aesthetic appearance; you will not lose the badges you have already earned.

Comments and feedback appreciated!

From the Ashes

Well, I have returned, and interest in the Wiki is blossoming once more.  We've got a small team together, and the important pages are coming up to date with recent climactic events.  I'm slowly but surely sprucing the place up and making it look a bit prettier.

All in all, the Wiki looks to be rising again! ^^
